突然発見しました。
今ではここのエコバッグを持つのが日本ではやっているのですね。
とても可愛くて99セントとお安いエコバッグは日本へのお土産としても最適です。

旅行博2009レポート（エレファントツアー／五十川）

9月18日（一般公開は19日）より、東京ビッグサイトにで世界旅行博が開催されました。これは毎年東京で開催されている、海外旅行のための情報を一堂に集めた、アジア最大級の旅行関連イベントです。歴史は古く、26年間続いた旅行業界向けイベントと、18年間一般向けに開催してきたイベントとが６年前に合併。内容も規模もパワーアップして毎年10万人来場の大盛況で開催しています。初日の9月18日は報道関係者・業界関係者のみの日で、商談を目的とする旅行業界者や将来を担う観光関係の専門学校の学生達でごったがえしました。



昨年は、当社の直美、幸代が会場内でお世話させていただきましたが、今年は２年ぶりに私が行って参りました。今年は110,784名（IATA発表）の入場数があり、日本の旅行業界もまだまだ捨てたものではないな、という印象を受けました。円高も手伝ってこのマーケットも盛り上がってきている感があります。今年は高校生以下を無料にしたこともあり、また大型連休ということもあって、出展各社とも予想以上の反響にあわてておりました。



さて、今回は当社３回目の出展で、ロサンゼルス観光局のブース内で、会社の広報宣伝をさせていただいております。当社以外にも、当社のお取り引きである数社に声をかけ、一緒にパンフレット類を展示しました。用意した4,000部のパンフレットも、完全になくなりました。



私も現地に住んで22年目になりますが、何年いてもどんどん新しいものが登場して来ること、デスバレーやヨセミテ国立公園のような大自然が目と鼻の先にあること、レイカーズやドジャーズなどのスポーツ観戦の盛り上がりを一緒に体感できることなどがロサンゼルスの魅力だと思います。そしてさらに、年間を通じて雨天のリスクが少なく温暖なので荷物も少なくて済みます。世界各地のおいしいものもたくさんあり、kitsonなど、日本上陸したブランドでもまだまだロサンゼルスの方が安い（日本の半額程度）ということ、ハワイより遠いのにハワイより安い航空運賃など、ロサンゼルスの魅力は尽きません。



今年は天気にも恵まれ、気温は例年より涼しかったものの、会場内は出展者、来訪客の両方の熱気でムンムンしておりました。会場内で来訪客の方から「去年エレファントツアーさんを利用しました。」「ガイドの◯◯さんにお世話になりました。」「◯◯さんによろしく。」というような声を聞くと嬉しくなってしまいます。やはりこういったイベントはいいですね。来る方も来てもらう方も一体感があります。



そして、お客様の中で多かったのが、「以前ロサンゼルスに住んでたんですよ、またロサンゼルスに住みたい」というようなふるさと感覚で声をかけてくれる方たち。旅行で初めて行って、「また行きたい」とおっしゃっている方も多く見受けられました。

でも　ウニとケチャップご飯は厳しかったです。。。

今朝はあさから観光局のパワーブレックファーストミーティングに参加してまいりました。
そして観光局おすすめのLA マイケルジャクソン想い出の地4日間コースという壮大なプランの行程表をいただきましたので　まずは英語で一挙公開です！！

とても　長いので英語で失礼します。
Day 1:
STAPLES Center (Downtown) -- Two days before he passed away, Michael Jackson rehearsed at STAPLES Center for his “This Is It” tour. STAPLES Center was also the site of Michael's public memorial service. 
Visit Time: 1.0 hours; Drive time to next attraction: **No drive is required the Grammy Museum is walking distance from the Staples Center, visitor may park and walk .

The GRAMMY Museum (Downtown) -- Michael Jackson received thirteen GRAMMY Awards and in celebration of his life and work, the GRAMMY Museum is sharing a collection of Jackson’s most iconic wardrobe pieces. The museum is offering a special $10 admission, which includes 2 hours free parking with validation through September 2009.
Visit time: 1 hour;   Drive time to next attraction: 15 minutes

Shrine Auditorium (Downtown) -- Fans will remember the Shrine as the filming location of the 1984 Pepsi commercial featuring the Jackson 5. During filming, a surge of pyrotechnics singed Michael’s hair and scalp. Jackson later returned to Shrine to accept the Artist of the Century award at the 29th Annual American Music Awards.

 First AME Church (Downtown) -- Michael Jackson, with his brother Randy Jackson and close friend Steve Harvey, surprised fans by attending services and visiting a class of Sunday school children at First AME Church in 2004.

Afternoon:

Leimert Park (South LA) -- In the days following Jackson’s death, fans gathered at Leimert Park to celebrate his life and work, and to mourn the passing of the beloved entertainer. Several generations of fans attended the candle light vigil held June 26, 2009 to remember Michael Jackson with songs and performances.

Hollywood Walk of Fame (Hollywood) -- Jackson’s star is located at 6927 Hollywood Boulevard outside Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. The star for the Jackson 5 is located on Vine Street just north of Sunset Boulevard. Michael Jackson is one of very few entertainers to receive two stars in the same category.
Visit time: 1.0 hours;  Drive time to next attraction: 5 minutes

A & M Records (Hollywood) -- The most celebrated talent in music joined Michael Jackson here to record “We Are the World” in support of Africa. The A&M Records building is now home to the Jim Henson Company.

Pantages Theatre (Hollywood) -- Now home to Broadway LA, the Pantages was once the filming location for Michael Jackson’s “You Are Not Alone” video.

Hollywood Wax Museum (Hollywood) -- Michael Jackson is commemorated here in a wax installation of the “We Are the World” recording session. 
Visit Time: 10  minutes ; Drive time to next attraction: 5 minutes

Guinness World of Records Museum (Hollywood) -- Jackson broke several Guinness World Records during his illustrious career including Most Successful Solo Artist of All Time. Michael was on site to receive his nod for Lifetime Achievement in 1993.   
Visit Time: 1.5 hours; Drive time to next attraction: 20-25 minutes
 
Gibson Amphitheatre (formerly the Universal Amphitheatre) -- Jackson attended friend, Liza Minelli’s sold out concert at Universal Amphitheatre in 1983 and continued to enjoy Universal CityWalk’s shops and restaurants with his friends and family throughout his career.   
Visit time: 2 hours at Citywalk.

Day 2

Petersen Automotive Museum (Westside) -- Michael Jackson wished his close friend, designer Christian Audigier, Happy Birthday with a special performance at the Petersen in 2008.
Visit time: 2.0 hours; Drive time to Sunset Strip: 15 minutes

Sunset Strip (West Hollywood) -- The world famous Sunset Strip is a section of Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood lined with shopping, restaurants and exciting nightlife. In 2001, traffic was treated to the premiere of Jackson’s short film “You Rock My World” on the mega screen outside the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip.
Visit time: Cruise Sunset Strip; 20 minutes; 

Westlake Audio Recording Studios (West Hollywood) -- Legendary albums “Off the Wall” and “Thriller” were recorded here. Michael Jackson also teamed up with Sir Paul McCartney during sessions at Westlake.

Afternoon

100 North Carolwood Drive (Westwood) -- Michael Jackson moved from Neverland Valley Ranch to this estate in the prominent Holmby Hills enclave. Carolwood Drive remained his home until he passed away in 2009. It is a stop on many Hollywood tours including Starline Tours and Dearly Departed.    Hollywood Tour Time: 3hours

Evening:
Spago (Beverly Hills) -- Following the 1991 Academy Awards, Madonna joined Michael Jackson for an after party at the acclaimed Wolfgang Puck eatery.

Shadowing Michael’s Favorite Shopping Haunts

Hennessey + Ingalls Art and Architecture Bookstore (Hollywood) -- Jackson frequented this recently opened boutique in the new Cahuenga Corridor warehouse for all things art and fashion, Space 15Twent.

Wacko (Hollywood) -- Known as one of the best toy stores in Hollywood, Michael often shopped for his children in this exciting collection of toys, costumes and games.

Off the Wall Antiques (West Hollywood) -- Michael Jackson was praised for his collection of rare treasures. He often shopped for new pieces at this Melrose Avenue boutique. Melrose Avenue shopping runs east from Beverly Hills to Hollywood, offering a taste of everything from high-end designer boutiques to trendy vintage specialty stores.

Lunch: The Ivy (Beverly Hills) -- A favorite among celebrities, The Ivy attracts entertainers and industry executives for lunch and dinner daily. Madonna and Michael Jackson ate here in 1991, hounded paparazzi relentlessly seeking a shot of the emerging luminaries.

Afternoon:

Tom’s Toys (Beverly Hills) -- Just over a month before the superstar passed away, Jackson shopped for toys for his three children at this sophisticated toy store.

Rodeo Drive (Beverly Hills) -- Jackson’s wardrobe was a reflection of the artist’s unique style and eccentricity. He often shopped for custom designer pieces at the shops on Rodeo Drive. He shopped regularly for Dior, Dolce & Gabbana and Christian Audigier’s ED Hardy line.

Day 4:
Neverland Valley Ranch (Santa Barbara County) is a developed property in Santa Barbara County, California, most famous for being a home of American entertainer Michael Jackson from 1988 to 2005. It is named after Neverland, the fantasy island in the story of Peter Pan, a boy who never grows up. The ranch is located about five miles north of unincorporated Los Olivos, and about eight miles north of the town of Santa Ynez.

ロスアンゼルスのユニオンステーションの前にLA発祥の地オルベラストリートがございます。ちょっとした事から　ここで一時間の時間つぶしをする事になりました。

時刻は午後２時。
小腹の空く時間。。。
ということで　こわごわ　メキシカンエスニックスナックに挑戦です。
小麦粉をワッカの形にあげたかのような　スナック菓子ドリトス。
たっぷりの辛いソースと　ライムジュースを袋のうえからぶっかけていただくのでございます。

レイカーズ優勝（エレファントツアー／直美）

ついにレイカーズが2002年以来のNBA ファイナルで優勝しました。




地元ステープルセンタ−で優勝を決めて欲しかったという気持ちもありますが、圧倒的な強さで本日の試合は進んでいたため、勝利は３RDクォーターからかなり色濃く予想されました。



レーカーズにとっては15回目の優勝。



そしてコビーブライアントは念願のファイナルでの初のMVPに輝きました。

表彰式で可愛いちいさな二人の娘にトロフィーを見せる誇らしい顔が厳しいシーズンをくぐり抜けた人の誇りに満ちていてテレビで見ていても素晴らしかったです。



レーカーズのフィル・ジャクソン監督にとっては１０度目の優勝で、歴代最多記録を更新しました。



敵地で迎えた優勝。



地元のステープルセンタ−周辺でもビッグスクリーンで試合を見守る人々が何千人にも上りました。その盛り上がった様子をお伝えしたいと早速試合終了後に現場でとってきたのがこれらの写真です。



車道に溢れ出て　旗を振りかざしユニフォームに身を包んだファンの面々。
喜びを車のクラクションで表す運転中のファン。



世の中のどこにこんなにたくさんの色んなサイズのレーカーズの旗があったのだろうというほどの旗の数。



ファンはみんな素直に地元チームの優勝を喜んでいるようで　お酒がはいってはめを外したりはしない人が多いようでした。



といってもヤッパリ調子に乗って久々に見た女性の車の箱乗りや、車の天井にのっかって旗を振っている人も現れ、さすがにこのまま事故が起こらないと良いなあと思っていた矢先。



LAPD(LA　Police Deprtment)が登場。
騎馬警官、白バイ、サットチ-ムのような特殊部隊、パトカーが急に勢揃いしたかと思ったら瞬く間に素晴らしい手さばきで交通を整理していきました。



今日の盛り上がりはしっかり　予想して手配が行き届いていたんでしょうね。
整備されるファンの人もとても従順で。



せっかくの優勝を喜びのあまり突飛な行動をとって台無しにしたくないなあと思っているように思えました。
エキサイトしているけど　落ち着いている　礼儀正しい。LAアンジェリーノ。。なかなか素敵です。



しあさって水曜はコロシアムでパレード　朝09：30からオープンしています。
パレードは11TH通りとフィゲロアストリートから始まります。
LAにそのタイミングでおいでの方はぜひ　一緒にお祝いいたしましょう！！
